YOUR HELP IS URGENTLY NEEDED!
Australia has the worst mammal extinction rate of any country in the world, and the catastrophic bushfires of 2019-20 impacted nearly 3 billion animals and have pushed many more of our precious wildlife on the fast-track towards extinction.
For example, in the last 4 years, the destruction of the habitat of the greater glider in New South Wales and Queensland which is listed as vulnerable has increased by 52%.
The devastating Black Summer Fires of 2019 to 2020 scorched 1/3 of the greater glider’s habitat.
It’s not just mammals, the iconic and internationally adored Kookaburra is in decline – along with so many other birds, including the regent honeyeater.
Even before the unprecedented Black Summer Fires Australia was leading the race on mammal extinctions worldwide.
In the last 20 years, 7.7 million hectares of threatened species habitat has been destroyed across Australia.
Now, is the time to take action before it’s too late.
Save Our Woodlands is an environmentally conscious group of volunteers dedicated to preserving threatened birds, animals and ecosystems in the woodlands of New South Wales, Australia.
Only 15% of our woodlands remain, the rest has been cleared for agriculture.
Save Our Woodlands Inc. secures and protects woodlands in NSW and pays landholders, in perpetuity, to conserve, enhance and re-establish native woodlands on THEIR land, and to manage these woodlands, so they are maintained.
BUT we need YOUR help. Together we can bring about change. Please consider donating.
People tend to think that woodlands are “just bush,” consequently, over 85% of the native woodlands in New South Wales, Australia have been replaced by agriculture.
Donate $10 per month & help protect critical habitats. By doing so YOU will prevent further species from extinction.
Our work is only possible with your support.
