WE ARE NOT OPPOSED TO SOLAR OR WIND FARMS…
But we are supporting the following petition to demand that our government slow down and more carefully consider the long term pros and cons of every ‘renewables’ project.
Before we go there we would however like to explain that not all petitions are considered equal – some including this one have more clout than most.
A petition to the House of Representatives (the House) is a request for the House to take action on something that it, or the Federal Government, is responsible for.
E–petitions must be approved by the Petitions Committee and once they have 50 or more signatures they could potentially be Presented to the House of Representatives.
The possibility of that happening increases with every signature over the initial 50 – so please take 2 minutes to scroll down and sign – right now – and please consider sharing this petition.
We, the petitioners, call upon the Federal Government to commit to a moratorium on all large-scale wind, solar, pumped hydro and related transmission projects until:
1. a bond is held from start of project with guaranteed finance in place to cover decommissioning and full project removal, disposal and rehabilitation costs at end of life;
2. appropriate regulations are in place to protect threatened and endangered species;
3. large scale renewable projects are subject to full State government approval processes and be made impact-assessable not code-assessable;
4. an appropriate land access framework to protect the environment, cultural heritage and existing land users is established;
5. the financial impact upon existing rate payers and their Local Councils is negotiated as compensation for the use of infrastructure and any damage thereto;
6. Australia's food security is protected by prohibiting large scale renewable projects on prime agricultural land; (See Paris Agreement Article 2 (1) (b))
7. all large-scale renewable projects comply with the same regulations that apply to agriculture and mining;
8. large scale renewable projects are added as a trigger to the EPBC Act;
9. a mandatory code of conduct is established to govern the renewable energy sector and renewable energy proponents’ conduct with affected communities.
10. Effective and efficient recycling and disposal of ‘renewable projects’ end of life infrastructure.
11. A secure, sovereign, energy generation plan is determined, to ensure citizens and businesses are able to access reliable, affordable and dispatchable electricity.
We therefore ask the House to to commit to a moratorium on all 'renewable energy' projects.

Only 15% of our woodlands remain, the rest has been cleared for agriculture.
